Medical Plastic Injection Molding

When accuracy is vital

seal.jpgThogus has extensive knowledge of the healthcare and medical-device industry, having successfully partnered with leading healthcare providers in designing and creating breakthrough medical devices and other innovative products. We serve medical OEMs in everything from supplying large quantities of plastic injection parts for devices to assisting surgeons in designing and developing breakthrough instruments and implants.

Our engineers have addressed concerns in several healthcare sectors:

  • orthopedic
  • dental
  • ophthalmology
  • pediatric
  • imaging
  • radiation shielding

Located just outside of Cleveland, Ohio, we’ve become specialists in the medical-device industry.

Our experienced and collaborative engineering department will work with you at any stage of the developmental process, including:

  • from initial exploration
  • to proof of concept
  • right up to sourcing of constituent materials

Our qualified staff of professionals will also be happy to assist you in the specialized task of compiling 510(k) submissions (for formal FDA market clearance of new products) and other key certifications you may require throughout the developmental process.

With increasingly stringent regulatory requirements, the demand for lead-free medical devices is on the rise.  With RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directives expected soon, manufacturers will need to find lead-free solutions, especially when shipping products overseas. Relax: we have developed that solution. Our strategic partner, Radiation Protection Technologies, molds tungsten-filled polymers – a safe substance that blocks radiation at the same rates as lead.  Our lead replacement product has been used in CT scanners for several years.

We’re also thoroughly conversant with other sustainable and species-friendly practices in the medical and healthcare sectors. We use tallow-free lubricants and bovine-free polypropylene for the medical and pharmaceutical markets.
