Process Technician-12hour Nights Schedule-(7p-7:30a)

12-Hour Nights Schedule:
  • Work every other weekend and 2-3 nights a week. (15 days per month)
  • Automatic 8 hours OT (Time and 1/2) on every pay
Essential Job Functions:

·       Performs mold changeover including pulling, set-up, verification for plastic molding machines and auxiliary equipment (dryers, grinders, robots, conveyors, etc…) to complete set-up of work cell

·       Cleans inside and around press to remove all evidence of previous job, as well as any equipment not needed for the job set to run next

·       Completes the checklist of equipment parameters to ensure they have been properly set and checked

·       Screens all of the molds and chutes

·       Performs minor maintenance on the molds

·       Maintains production records related to job responsibilities both in paper form and electronically

·       Confers with the supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments

·       Performs activities of other departments as needed including: material handling (mixing, prep, movement), equipment cleaning and handling, and/or inspection operator

·       Enter data into IQMS system

·       Initiates changes in molding parameters according to specifications

·       Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems

·       Completes, monitors, and upgrades checklist of molding parameters

·       Understands ERP system including data entry and report generation

·       Responsible for start-up and production of injection molding process applications using 2 & 3 stage and decoupled processing

·       Ability to run vertical, horizontal, rotational and overlay molding machines and processes including processing multiple core-pull / multiple cavity tooling

·       Understanding of hot runner processing

·       Understanding of sound quality assurance methodologies

·       Responsible for ensuring molded components meet all product quality criteria including dimensional

·       Consistent communication with the quality department to prevent non-conforming product from getting out of control

·       Responsible for set-up, programming, operating, and maintaining all Servo Robotics (3 axis), and end of arm tooling (EOAT)

·       Responsible for monitoring and reducing process variation

·       Responsible for hands-on troubleshooting and process improvement through scientific injection molding techniques, and root-cause elimination

·       Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the success of the organization

Required Qualifications:

Education, Training and/or Experience                   

·       Two year degree or certificate from college or technical school or

·       Three to five years of related experience and/or training -or-

·       Equivalent combination of education and experience

·       Must have comprehensive knowledge and/or experience with thermal plastic or resins utilized in injection molding

·       Must have extensive knowledge and experience with numerous different sizes and types of molding machines

·       Must have basic knowledge and understanding of injection molding tooling
** Previous material handling experience or equivalent is required

Language Skills                   

·       Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

·       Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

·       Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organizations

 Mathematical Skills             

·       Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals

·       Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent

Reasoning Ability                   

·       Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

·       Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

Computer Skills                   

·       Understanding of how to access and use modules specific to job function in IQMS

Other Skills and Abilities:                                          

·       Tow Motor License required
