Position Overview:
The Operations Manager develops, manages & supports all functions on the production floor to ensure we meet customers’ requirements. This position requires effective communications skills, decision making which drives action and ensures that operations continue to evolve & grow.
The primary goal of this position is to effectively plan, communicate & manage the operation to drive safe, profitable & sustainable growth.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- Executive Management Position
- Office Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
- Company is open 24 hours/day, 5 days/week. Three shifts Monday-Friday
- Position requires working closely with all production shifts; which will require flexibility to work with off shifts as needed
Position Overview:
The Operations Manager is responsible for day-to-day production. The position strategizes and oversees all production activities while continually maintaining profitability. This position supervises, motivates, and supports the staff daily, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication. The Operations Manager is responsible for effective and efficient planning and scheduling of personnel and equipment to reduce bottlenecks and problems. This individual works hand-in-hand with scheduling and the other Operations departments to achieve the production goals.
Essential Functions:
- Leads by example and manages team according to company core values
- Directs and prioritizes day to day tasks
- Directing the needs of production through management of the shift supervisors and the production (includes Fittings)
- Includes interviews, guidance in managing their operators and, when necessary, assisting with disciplinary issues (even up to termination) and motivational tactics.
- Leverages the assistance and guidance from other operating departments—to execute against the production demands (i.e. tooling; maintenance; automation; processing; etc)
- Helps with the training of operators by working with Supervisors
- Fosters a culture of Lean Management Principles
- Maintains daily metrics including sales, uptime, on-time, scrap rate, and throughput, schedule attainment and downtime reporting
- Extracts or collects the information/recommendations from the daily production activities and brings it back to the core operating team to discuss and resolve production concerns
- Continual analysis and updating of production processes and the efficient use of labor to be safer, simpler, and more economical
- Investigates finished good inventory movement and tracking to provide solutions and improve clarity within the system
- Supports the needs of the supervisors and business unit leaders through proper communication with management
- In production launch, oversees the layout of the production work flow, labor allocation, packaging and identifying the improvement needs for on-going production efficiency that meets the critical customer requirements
- Works closely with quality, CSR’s, Tooling, Processing, Engineering, Maintenance, and other operational functions to quickly resolve customer issues, and implement preventive measures moving forward
- Identification of undocumented process, lack of process and process gaps within production to recommend and implement solutions.
- Regular and punctual attendance including ability to adjust schedule to support 24/7 operation as needed
- Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the success of the organization

- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering and/or 5+ years of experience in Injection Molding manufacturing environment, -or-
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years management experience in Injection Molding manufacturing required
