Position Overview:

The Quality Analyst is responsible for accurate and timely verification of product quality originating from operations to ensure products are manufactured within customer specifications using internally defined processes, and containing any product that does not meet these requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

  • First Piece Inspections / Last piece Inspections
  • In-Process Inspections
  • Production Start-up activities
  • Containment of product and proper system documentation of the non-conforming items
  • Inventory transactions related to product acceptance/rejection
  • Production floor audits to review execution of work instructions and confirm production compliance
  • Storing production records in IQMS
  • Job Book verification and storage at EOR
  • Assist operations with quality issues – decision documents, root cause investigation, product disposition
  • Daily Shift reporting
  • Maintaining organization in the Quality Lab, Quality Analyst work space, and Quality Containment Area
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Support initiatives by the Quality Supervisor and/or the Engineering & Quality Manager
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the success of the organization

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities                

  • Ability to read part drawings
  • Accurate usage of hand held measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, height stand, go/no go gages, thread gages, depth gages, pin gages, torque wrench, dial indicator)
  • Accurate usage of visual measuring equipment (OGP, Comparator)
  • Recognition of product faults (splay, flash, shorts, pulls, warp, sink, etc)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of basic quality control and quality assurance principles

Education, Training and/or Experience                   

  • College or Technical degree preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience in the plastics industry and/or in quality control
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Language Skills                   

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and work instructions
  • Ability to write routine reports and e-mail correspondence
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees and supervision (oral and written)

Mathematical Skills                  

  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Reasoning Ability                   

  • Problem solving
  • Interpret a variety of instructions provided in various formats (written, oral, diagram, or schedule)

Computer Skills                   

  • Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Google Docs
  • E-mail applications
  • Efficiently utilize IQMS Inventory Control Software (Quality Module and Inventory Transactions)
