Position Overview:

The Team Lead’s (Inspection Operator Level 3) primary responsibilities include the those of the Inspection Operator Level 1 and Trainer (Operator Level 2) as needed. The Team Lead is trained and capable of maintaining day-to-day production operations within a team or zone. The Team Lead is capable of supporting the Shift Supervisor primarily and/or performing duties carried out by the Shift Supervisor as required. The Team Lead reports to the Shift Supervisor and receives training-related guidance from the Operations Coordinator and Production Manager as needed. This individual is expected to perform job responsibilities according to the company’s core values and in accordance with applicable employment law best practices.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Inspection Operator Level 1 job functions
  • Trainer / Inspection Operator Level 2 job functions
  • Labor allocation
  • Shift Meetings
  • Point of Contact for Inspection Operators Level 1-2 as needed
  • EOR
  • Count processes, investigations, & remedies
  • Final Inspection
  • Containment processes
  • Decision Documentation
  • Twice a shift – shift reviews/inspection
  • Evaluate, update, and share accuracy of OWIs and SOPs
  • Assist with update of job board layout
  • Investigate and remedy inventory issues & discrepancies
  • Assess IQMS schedule, assign priorities, manipulate downtimes & data accordingly
  • Functional understanding of Supervisor roles and responsibilities in order to act as a backup to Supervisor when needed.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the success of the organization

Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in Supervisor’s absence in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Proactive communication with Trainer and Supervisor regarding daily production efficiency/status
  • Proactive communication with management and partner departments, as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of current production SOPs, forms, procedures, and practices
  • Pull reports, assess data, and take appropriate actions
  • Proficient with IQMS and scan gun navigation
  • Mastery of all Inspection Operator (1), Trainer (2), and related responsibilities
  • Ability to research and solve routine issues and problems, including inventory
  • Strong work ethic / Motivated / Dependable

Education, Training and/or Experience                   

  • Proficient in job functions of Operators Level 1-2
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • One to three years related experience and/or training preferred
  • Training experience Strongly preferred
  • Manufacturing or Plastics experience preferred
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Language Skills                   

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, or customers, of organization.

Mathematical Skills                  

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability                   

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.

 Computer Skills                   

  • Database and Inventory software (IQMS preferred)
  • Internet software
  • Microsoft Office software
  • Basic computer functions & skills

 

Other Skills and Abilities:                                           

  • Tow Motor License
  • Valid Driver’s License
